Misal Pav (Kolhapur Spicy Version)
1/4 cup dry coconut (for masala)
5-6 kashmiri red chillies (for masala)
2 tbsp coriander seeds (for masala)
1 tsp cumin seeds (for masala)
1 tsp fennel seeds (for masala)
2 cardamom (for masala)
1 nutmeg (for masala)
1 cinnamon stick (for masala)
1 lichen (for masala)
1 star anise (for masala)
6-7 cloves (for masala)
6-7 black pepper (for masala)
8-10 fenugreek seeds (for masala)
2 tbsp white sesam seeds (for masala)
1 tbsp poppy seeds (for masala)
1 inch ginger (for masala)
8-10 garlic (for masala)
3-4 tbsp oil
1 tsp mustard seeds (for masala)
1 tsp cumin seeds (for masala)
1/2 tsp asafoetida (for masala)
2 onions chopped
1 chopped tomato
1/2tsp turmeric (for masala)
1 tbsp red chilli powder (for masala)
3/4 tbsp kolhapuri missal masala
Salt
3 cups water
Coriander leaves to garnish
- First Add all the dry ingredients and dry roast them to make kolhapuri masala
- Once roasted, grind them and keep the powder aside
- Heat Oil, add all the seeds, vegetables, masala powders and kolhapuri masala
- Mix well. Add 1 packet of Aaj Pakao Misal Mix and mix well, add salt, add 3 cups water and let it boil for 15-20 mins
- The Kolhapuri missal is ready. add coriander leaves, onion, tomato to garnish
